Our History
For nearly a century, Citizens National Bank has been the bank for your life. Beginning with one location in a single-frame building, today's Citizens National Bank is the second largest independently owned and operated community bank in Eastern Kentucky, with 14 branches serving seven counties throughout the Big Sandy region.
We are the bank for your family. From the earliest branch to today's large community of banks, the Dorton family has been an integral part of our staff and our success. Dennis Dorton is the third generation of Dorton presidents to guide Citizens National Bank in our commitment to preserving the tradition of a caring neighborhood banking center. We are dedicated to providing locally focused financial solutions with personal attention to help our neighbors, families, and businesses continue to prosper today and into the future.
We are the bank for your life now and for years to come. Just in the last 10 years, our merger with Bank Josephine and acquisition of Heritage Bank have cemented our expertise and ability to provide convenient, superior financial products and services. A long history of growth and our commitment to economic development continue with the current construction of a new building just 50 feet from our original 1910 location on Main Street in Paintsville.
