Citizens donates facility for New City Hall

CITIZENS NATIONAL BANK OF PAINTSVILLE DONATES FACILITY FOR NEW CITY HALL
PAINTSVILLE, KY (June 19, 2007) – Citizens National Bank announced today plans to donate their former headquarter location to the City of Paintsville. The building which currently serves as a bank branch at 340 Main Street will close in early fourth quarter of this year to become the new City Hall.
Mayor Bob Porter said, “Citizens National Bank has had a long and rich tradition as the oldest continuously operating bank in Paintsville.” “The donation of this facility is just one more example of their outstanding citizenship in serving the people of Paintsville since 1910. This location has always been the cornerstone of downtown and is the perfect site for the new City Hall.”
The new location will serve as administrative services for the Mayor’s office. The current City Hall will still function as an emergency command center. In that capacity, the Police department, emergency services and 911 offices will remain.
Dennis Dorton, President/Chief Executive Officer of Citizens National Bank noted, “We are extremely happy to be donating our building to the City for such a meaningful purpose.” “With our expanded services at our main downtown headquarters and overall market expansion, converting the branch to the new City Hall seemed to be the perfect transition.”
Current customers will continue to be served by the main downtown Citizens location. All customers will be notified of the closing as well as relocation of safe deposit boxes. All employees will remain with the bank and re-assigned.
