CITIZENS NATIONAL BANK OF PAINTSVILLE TURNS OVER THE KEYS TO CITY HALL
PAINTSVILLE, KY (October 26, 2007) – Citizens National Bank signed over the Deed of Conveyance to the City in converting Citizens’ Main Street Branch location to the new City Hall facilities. Citizens donated the branch in June of 2007. The location underwent some remodeling with Citizens donating all the furniture in the building. The building will re-open by the end of the year as the new City Hall.
Mayor Bob Porter said, “Citizens National Bank has once again demonstrated leadership and meaningful civic stewardship in donating the location to the City.” The mayor and five city employees will be housed in the new facility. It will serve as administrative services for the Mayor’s office. The current City Hall will still function as an emergency command center. In that capacity, the Police department, emergency services and 911 offices will remain.
Dennis Dorton, President/Chief Executive Officer of Citizens National Bank noted, “Paintsville has been our home for nearly 100 years. The donation of our former headquarters to be used as the new City Hall is in keeping with our commitment to the communities where we live and work.” The property where the building currently stands has been a cornerstone of business since before the branch facility was constructed. Prior to the property being conveyed to Citizens National Bank, it was formerly known as the William Fairchild’s blacksmith lot property; exemplifying that the City of Paintsville and its residents have always been served by this property location.
Citizens National Bank is the second largest independently owned and operated community banking company in East and Northeast Kentucky. CNB headquarters is in Paintsville, KY. The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of Citizens National Corporation, a diversified financial services company.
